Branch structure

In a retail system it is essential that the branch structure, which runs through the system

needs to be supplied can be defined.

The branch structure must meet several requirements:

- Planning opening times and staff (including renovations, short-term closure of a branch, etc.)

- Multiple storage areas per store

- Neighboring branch structure

- Target and maximum stocks

- Any characteristics of the branch that are used to select goods when allocating goods.

- Branch infrastructure such as cash registers and card readers.

Planning and limit monitoring

As a starting point for procurement, especially in fashion, planning procurement for the next seasons is essential.

The procurement planning and strategy is determined over a year before the goods arrive in the store. The orders are released taking these plans and strategies into account.
It is necessary that the product manager can develop trends and strategies at different levels based on past values and expectation.

There are three levels of product structuring available in Microsoft D365 Fashion Retail (purchasing groups, clusters and product groups). Planning takes place at the cluster or product group level.

The system creates initial data based on periods of the previous season as well as the current one

Season. The data contains both unit and sales data. With the help of this observation, trend changes based on the sales volume of the previous period and the current inventory can be identified and corrected.

Multiple simulations can be created in parallel. If a simulation is defined as a final plan, this is considered the purchase limit.

Goods receipt branch

Since the goods are summarized in a delivery journal for each store, they can only be recorded in the system using the delivery journal number.

This means that the effective transfer is carried out from the “Goods in transit” journal to the store inventory.
